stinkin' like pickle brine

this week has been slow, and yet somehow filled with all sorts of events. maggie and i managed to can 65 jars of dill pickles. yes that's right, the Dilly Nelsons are back. such a long day though! ill post pictures of the disastrous kitchen soon.

nux got a haircut, and it looks fantastic.

my grandma went in for a checkup, and after complaining of stomach pain, they discovered a tumor on her uterus. apparently i was left in the dark about the fact that she had two surgeries within the past 10 years to have small ones removed. grrr. anyways, she's scheduled for surgery in two weeks, so hopefully everything goes well. im staying at her house the night before and going up with her for the day. i dont have a choice really, the little lady thinks im her "guardian angel". im guessing the job title comes with some responsibilies and duties, plus i love her with all my heart.
hopefully all goes well!

tonight is a surprise birthday party for my neighbour, so shhh. im excited because the place theyre doing it at has really great food. and then, of course, we stroll down for our weekly dose of Oliver Black debauchery, whiskey, dirty hippies, and really great music.

You know what they say - a pickle in brine saves nine.

Why do you need 65 jars of pickles?

Lots of luck and good thoughts for your sweet lookin' granny. She's cute! I love how you're her her good luck charm :)

you want some dill pickles?
i thought so, haha.

no, really though, it was split between me,. tory and maggie. i do a half bushel every year (which cans, like, 23 jars), and in the past year, it didnt even get us halfway through, with friends stopping by for refills, so we decided to go all out this year.

wait - so these pickles are just for fun?

i'll buy a jar off you! i am a pickle-nut. Or a pickle-freak. A pickle-person. Whatever makes sense and doesn't sound weird.

oh shit yeah, they are for fun, but definitely not for sale. we just give'em out to friends.

i think all of those pickle descriptions make perfect sense. of course they'd sound weird if there was a "d" at the end of "pickle".
ex: pickled nut
